When measuring an optical fiber with an OTDR it is necessary to insert a stretch of fiber before the fiber that you want to test. The reason is, that the pulses of the OTDR needs to travel some distance before the can generate reliable measurements. It can also improve the measurements of the last connector if you connect an extra fiber at the far end of the fiber under measurement.

Our launch boxes are built into airtight boxes which are approved for military use. The fibers are stored under a cover for optimal protection and each fiber is installed with pull protection. Each launch box is delivered with indvidual test certificate.

We can supply launch boxes to meet customer requirements. For example alternative lengths of fibers or casing. Built into an ODF, OTDR or installed in a customer specific application.

The launch boxes are delivered with standard Mulitimode fibre of 150 meters and Singlemode fibre of 1000 meters. The launch boxes can be delivered with all standard types of fibreoptic connectors.
